A full house rewire will involve what we call first fix and second fix. 

First fix is when firstly we will isolate the electrics so that all the old switches sockets,lights etc can be removed. At this point we personally like to install the new 18th edition fuse board and wire a few temporary sockets. we then do the chasing of the walls, lift the floor boards, drill the joist and drill access holes etc.  we fit new metal back boxes for all sockets and switches in advance of all the rewiring of socket  and lighting circuits,alarms, smoke detectors , oven feeds etc.This would normally be completed on day one depending on the size of the property. 

All the positions of the new lights,sockets,switches etc would have already been agreed prior to us starting the works..

Then we are on to day two and three.The  Second fix

Once the first fix stage has been completed then your property can have the floor boards replaced and cleaned up as we go. 

The second fix work can then proceed fitting sockets,switches , light fittings, the consumer unit is usually already fitted by us and any other electrical items that may need to be finished off. Once all this is completed then we would complete an  electrical inspection of the property. Basically making sure we have got all the connections and wirings systems correct and safely terminated.
